Do you ever get tired of being lied to or mislead by officials and the news media?

Do you remember all of the politicians who were claiming the U.S. engagement in Iraq was built upon lies and there wasn’t any WMD’s. Just to put it in perspective, when the Whitehouse was governed by a Democrat, there was uniform agreement by these same people, that he had such weapons. Now before you assume this is a bash against Democrats or a promo on the prior Iraq war, there’s a few quotes from Ronald Reagan afterward. I’m only using these as obvious examples of misdirection or lies used by public officials and passed along in the media. I could fill several pages of lies by both political parties. Going beyond the political, you can find many misleading or false theories in circulation.

weapons against us or our allies is the greatest security threat we face.”
– Madeline Albright, Feb 18, 1998

“[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the
U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if
appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively
to the threat posed by Iraq’s refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction
programs.”
– Letter to President Clinton, signed by Sens. Carl Levin, Tom Daschle,
John Kerry, and others Oct. 9, 1998

“Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass
destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he
has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process.”
– Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998

“In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show
that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological
weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He
has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda
members .. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein
will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare,
and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons.”

This runs counter to my own beliefs, to administration policy, and to the original strategy we had in mind.”

Oliver North wrote that “Ronald Reagan knew of and approved a great deal of what went on with both the Iranian initiative and private efforts on behalf of the contras and he received regular, detailed briefings on both.

Defense Secretary Weinberger indicated that the President was aware of potential hostages transfers with Iran, as well as the sale of Hawk and TOW missiles to what he was told were “moderate elements” within Iran.

I could go on with examples before and after those examples used above but the important idea I would like to suggest is, we’re constantly told fiction or what others want us to think. It occurs when you get up in the morning and either listen or watch the news or through entertainers who have a personal agenda to appeal and gain support. You may attend mosque, synagogue, mass, seance, coven or auditing and find fiction. It’s up to you to either accept being part of a main stream of the gullible or decide that learning the truth is far more important than social acceptance.

For some people their lives are engaged in being part of a crowd, group, association or affiliation. To go beyond the boundaries established by this group requires in some cases extraordinary courage, dedication and a willingness to find out that your prior ideas / assumptions were wrong. Seeking for fact rather than just settling in and being comfortable means always willing to change should you find your previous assessment incorrect. This doesn’t suggest you accept or follow every new theory that comes along because once you find a fundamental fact or idea to be correct you move forward and build from there.
